Breathtaking 3-Day Marrakech Desert Tours

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges (350 km, approx. 6 hours)

Your journey begins with a friendly pick-up from Marrakech. After leaving the city behind, we climb the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass, soaring up to 2,260 meters (7,415 feet) as we wind through the High Atlas Mountains. The views here are simply stunning, dotted with Berber villages and rugged peaks.

Next, we’ll visit the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the backdrop for blockbuster films like Gladiator and The Mummy. It’s the perfect spot to snap some photos and soak in the ancient architecture.

Afterward, we’ll head to Ouarzazate, also known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you can explore the impressive Taourirt Kasbah. Continuing along the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” we make our way to the spectacular Dades Gorges, where towering cliffs and dramatic landscapes await.

Your evening ends with a delicious traditional dinner and a cozy night at a charming riad in the heart of the gorge.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga (250 km, approx. 3 hours)

After breakfast, we leave the Dades Gorges and head towards Todra Gorges via the palm-filled valley of Tinhir. These towering canyon walls, reaching up to 300 meters, will leave you speechless. Strolling through this natural wonder is a must for anyone joining our Marrakech desert tours.

We’ll then continue towards Erfoud, where you’ll visit a local fossil workshop, a unique feature of the region. From here, the magic intensifies as we drive to the edge of the Sahara, arriving at Merzouga and the famous Erg Chebbi dunes.

Before sunset, you’ll embark on a peaceful camel ride across the golden sands. As the sun dips below the horizon, the desert comes alive with color, offering a picture-perfect moment. Tonight, enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars and a memorable night in a comfortable desert camp.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech (600 km, approx. 9 hours)

Wake up early today to witness one of the most spectacular sunrises of your life from atop the dunes. Afterward, savor a hearty breakfast before we begin our journey back to Marrakech.

On the return, we’ll pass through the Valley of Roses, known for its charming kasbahs and fragrant blooms. We’ll also travel through palm groves and Berber villages, with plenty of scenic stops along the way.

Crossing the Atlas Mountains once more, we arrive back in Marrakech by evening—around 7:00 PM during summer/autumn and 8:00 PM in winter/spring.
