Our first stop is Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco” (and for good reason!). With its European-style architecture, clean streets, and cool mountain air, this place feels worlds away from the bustling medinas of Morocco. A quick coffee break here is the perfect way to start the day!

Meet the Monkeys in Azrou’s Cedar Forest

Just a short drive from Ifrane, we enter the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to Morocco’s famous Barbary macaques. These cheeky little creatures are always up for a snack (though it’s best not to feed them), and their playful antics make for some fun roadside entertainment!

Lunch in Midelt – A Delicious Pit Stop

By midday, we reach Midelt, a town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. Here, we stop for a well-deserved lunch—freshly made tagines, fluffy couscous, and sweet mint tea. Trust me, you won’t leave hungry!

Into the Desert: Welcome to Merzouga

As we continue south, the scenery begins to change dramatically. The lush valleys give way to vast, golden landscapes, and before we know it, we’re greeted by the breathtaking sight of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga.

Sunset Camel Ride & Overnight in the Sahara

There’s nothing quite like riding a camel through the Sahara at sunset. The way the light plays on the dunes, shifting them from gold to deep orange, is pure magic.

As night falls, we arrive at our Berber desert camp, where a traditional Moroccan feast awaits. After dinner, we gather around the fire for live music under a sky filled with more stars than you’ve ever seen. If you’ve ever wanted to sleep beneath the Milky Way, this is your chance!

Day 2: From Merzouga to the Dramatic Dades Valley

Sunrise Over the Sahara – A Must-See Moment

Waking up before dawn might sound rough, but trust me—it’s absolutely worth it. As the sun peeks over the dunes, the Sahara comes alive in a way that’s impossible to describe.

After soaking in the sunrise, we enjoy a traditional Berber breakfast before hopping back on our camels (or 4x4s for those who prefer wheels over humps).

Our next stop is the Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon with towering red cliffs that stretch nearly 300 meters high. Whether you want to take a leisurely walk along the river or just snap some jaw-dropping photos, this is one of Morocco’s most awe-inspiring sights.

Winding Roads & Hidden Villages in the Dades Valley

The drive through Dades Valley is nothing short of spectacular. Known as the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” this region is dotted with ancient fortresses, rugged cliffs, and the famous curvy roads of the Tizi n’Tichka Pass—a dream for photographers and road trip lovers alike!

Tonight, we stay in a charming guesthouse overlooking the valley, where the peaceful atmosphere is the perfect way to recharge for the final leg of our journey.

Day 3: From Dades to Marrakech – The Grand Finale

Ait Ben Haddou – A Step Back in Time

No trip through Morocco is complete without visiting the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed kasbah that looks straight out of a fairy tale. In fact, it’s been featured in Hollywood hits like "Gladiator," "Game of Thrones," and "The Mummy".

Walking through its ancient mud-brick alleys, you can almost hear the whispers of history echoing through the walls. Don’t forget to climb to the top for an incredible panoramic view of the valley below!

Crossing the High Atlas Mountains

As we leave the desert behind, we begin our ascent into the High Atlas Mountains. The winding roads of Tizi n’Tichka Pass offer breathtaking views at every turn, making this part of the journey just as memorable as the desert itself.

Arriving in Marrakech – The Adventure Ends (For Now!)

By late afternoon, we finally reach Marrakech, a city that needs no introduction. The energy of Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, the scent of fresh spices in the souks, and the sight of snake charmers and street performers—it’s a feast for the senses!
