Your journey into the heart of the Sahara Desert Morocco begins with an early pick-up from your hotel in Marrakech. As we drive through the majestic Tizi n'Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, the landscapes will leave you speechless. Winding roads, ancient Berber villages, and snow-capped peaks guide our way to Ait Benhaddou – a UNESCO World Heritage site.
This ancient fortified village is a living piece of Moroccan history. You'll have time to explore its sandy alleys and mudbrick houses before we head to Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Africa." After a quick stop for photos, we continue our journey south to Agdez, a peaceful town on the edge of the Draa Valley.
Here, you’ll unwind in a charming local riad, savoring a traditional dinner and preparing for the desert magic ahead.
After breakfast, we follow the palm-fringed path of the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river oasis. Along the way, we pass Zagora and visit Tamegroute, home to a centuries-old Koranic library and beautiful green-glazed pottery workshops.
As we continue through Tagounite and Mhamid El Ghizlane, the paved roads end and the real adventure begins! We switch to 4x4 and head deep into the Sahara, crossing wild landscapes and meeting local nomads along the way. You’ll sip traditional mint tea with them in their desert tents — a heartwarming, authentic moment you’ll never forget.
By late afternoon, the golden dunes of Erg Chigaga rise on the horizon. These are the tallest dunes in Sahara Desert Morocco, untouched and majestic. Upon arrival at our luxury desert camp, you’ll be welcomed with Moroccan hospitality and a refreshing drink.
Climb the highest dune to witness a sunset like no other — golden, endless, and serene. Afterward, enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars, complete with live Berber music and a cozy fire. Your night will be spent in a private luxury tent, blending comfort and tradition.
Wake up to the peaceful sounds of the desert. After breakfast, it’s time to explore the Sahara Desert Morocco in depth. We’ll start with a cooking class, where you’ll learn how to make authentic Moroccan tagine with our camp chef.
Then, ride camels deeper into the dunes to find a quiet spot for a picnic lunch in the middle of nowhere — just you, the golden sands, and the sky.
Next, we visit a hidden oasis, a lush green surprise in the middle of the desert. Afterward, return to the camp for a bit of rest. As the sun lowers again, saddle up for a camel ride to the top of the highest dune in Morocco.
Try sandboarding down the slopes if you’re feeling adventurous! As night falls, another magical evening awaits: enjoy a warm dinner by the fire, traditional music, and another star-filled sky. You’ll sleep your second night in the luxury camp, surrounded by silence and beauty.
After a last desert breakfast, we say goodbye to the dunes and travel across the wild Iriqui National Park. If you're lucky, you may spot mirages shimmering over the old dry lake bed of Lake Iriqui.
We reach the Berber town of Foum Zguid, where civilization begins again. Our route then takes us to Taznakht, Morocco’s famous carpet capital, where you’ll learn about traditional weaving techniques and see how the region’s beautiful rugs are made.
Finally, we return to Marrakech, full of unforgettable memories, new friendships, and stories to share.
